“Authenticity!” The Struggle and the Truth
We talk about authenticity like it’s effortless. We say things like, “Just be yourself.” But for many of us, being authentic feels more like a fight than a flow. It’s the fight against comparison. The tug-of-war between who you are and who you think you should be. It’s learning to embrace your story which includes wholeness and brokeness without shame.
Authenticity is not perfection. It’s honesty. It’s choosing to stand in truth even when vulnerability feels risky. It’s refusing to shrink yourself for comfort or approval.
And here’s the thing: authenticity is deeply spiritual. God doesn’t call us to be impressive. He calls us to be true. When we walk in truth, we walk in freedom.
So today, take a breath. Let go of the masks. You don’t have to perform for His love — it was already given freely.
And Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.— John 8:32
